Coughs in babies

My daughter got a cold a little while back and we found out she had a throat infection and she had antibiotics. She has had the runny nose and cough (both dry and chesty) for the past few weeks. We have been to the doc for another check up and he said her chest was clear etc etc and the chemist say there is othing they can give a baby for a cough. I use the vapouriser on some nights but don't find it makes a huge diiference. Just wondering what others have done in the same situation?

She is still a happy girl who eats well and sleeps but i just feel like i should be doing more.

Thanks

Re: Coughs in babies

How old is your little girl? I am continually told by the doctors / pharmacists not to use vaporisers on bubs under 18months?... would love to hear what others have heard?

Umm i've pretty much also been told nothing for coughs in bubs...

Re: Coughs in babies

She is 9 months old and i had never heard about that with vapourisers. I am taking her to the doc again in wednesday just to make sure there is nothing more serious hiding behind the cough/cold and will ask him them.

I think it is being made worst by the change of the season!

Re: Coughs in babies

Isnt it so typical my 2yr old now has a bad cough and has been really feral and unsettled...

Please let me know what the doc says re the vapouriser... I too thought it would be fine until I was told otherwise..

Re: Coughs in babies

Well the doctoer said that there is nothing on her chest and that it is just a cold and to let her get better herself which is great news and of course i completely forgot to ask about the nebuliser. I was so busy asking other things i didn't even think about it.....i knew i should have written myself a note!!!!! doh
