My Child magazine came about after I gave birth to my beautiful little boy, Duncan, in May 2004. My husband and I were both in our 40s and had given up on the idea of having children so Duncan really was a kind of miracle for us!

I’d been working in magazine publishing for almost 15 years and found, when I was pregnant, that none of the parenting magazines currently available in the newsagents were my cup of tea.

I’d also decided I wanted to be around as much as possible for the first few years of Duncan’s life before he started school. I wanted to be there while he was little to experience his first steps and all those sweet (but often challenging) growing-up stages. But I also needed to work.

These factors, plus my wonderful husband’s amazing support, were what prompted me to start up my own magazine and website – from our home.

My Child is all-Australian and is a trusted, reassuring resource for parents.

Both the magazine and this website are designed to help get you through the stages of conception, pregnancy, birth, infancy and early childhood – and round again if you’re having more children!
