HOW TO TRIM YOUR BABY’S NAILS WITHOUT ALL THE FUSS?

Nail care is an essential part of personal hygiene for everyone, even your little bundle of joy. The thought of having to cut your baby’s nails is not only intimidating, but it can be an extremely tricky task for parents and even more so for new parents. Babies tiny nails, combined with their tiny fingers and toes and add in that they never seem to be able to stay still, makes the fear of accidently drawing blood so real that you can end up feeling like the job is near impossible.

SO, WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO START TRIMMING YOUR BABY’S NAILS?

From the first month, yep that’s right the first month! Baby’s nails grow so fast in the first few weeks and believe it or not it is not uncommon to have to trim your baby’s nails up to twice a week.

WHAT THIS BEST WAY TO TRIM YOUR BABY’S NAILS?

Thankfully, Rite Aid has come to the rescue with the release of their new Baby Nail Trimmer.  The Baby Nail Trimmer has been designed for your baby’s soft nails and moves away from the use of traditional nail clippers or scissors.

The Baby Nail Trimmer is an electric nail file especially designed for baby’s and has a rotary filing function which prevents harm to your baby’s skin and nails.  With dual speed settings, the trimmer can also be adjusted to suit the sensitivity of baby’s nails, it makes this daunting task now as simple as it is to cut your own nails.  The Baby Nail Trimmer Gentle and painless and the trimmer come with a set of ultra-fine filing heads that adjust to your baby’s age.

We had two mum’s test this device and here’s what they said:

“As a busy mother of 2 girls, I love this little device. It has totally changed the way I feel about cutting baby/ toddler nails.  With my eldest daughter, I use to cut her nail with these little sharp scissors because the baby nail clippers I had didn’t seem to take off enough of the nail then I had to file the edges so she wouldn’t scratch herself.  I would be clipping again within 4-5 days or before if another trim was required. Having a 13mth old that is into everything, the Rite Aid Baby Nail Trimmer is a must have.  It takes just a min or two each week file down my baby’s nails and I don’t have to even worry is she is moving around like a hurricane”

“I love this device!! Where was this when I needed it 4 years ago? When my daughter was under a year, I accidently cut one of her nails so short, right down to her quick, it made her bleed.  It was traumatising, more for me than for her.  It was so horrible and something I don’t wish on any parent to have to experience. There is nothing worse than knowing you hurt your child, even when it’s accidental the guilt is still overwhelming. After that, I was so paranoid my wife took over nail cutting.  My Daughter is now 4 ½ years and I have gone back to cutting her nails myself and was a little sceptical of the Baby Nail Trimmer when I first got it, but it works a treat.  I use the 12+ mths dark blue pad and I haven’t had one complaint, actually I get asked if I can trim her nails even when there is nothing to trim. What a great device and the peace of mind is excellent. I would definitely recommend to other dad’s”
